Playstation Vue Login In-Depth Guide

January 16, 2019 By LA - Administrator Leave a Comment

If you're tired of subscribing to cable and satellite programming that is not only expensive but locks you into extended contracts that charge you hundreds of dollars in early cancelation fees, there are other options. Broadcast television programming is still a viable option, should you choose to go with an antenna connected to your television. Or you can use an Internet streaming service. One option to consider when it comes to this is the PlayStation Vue. Once you create an account, you will have a PlayStation Vue login, which can then be used to access television programming on your streaming device (you don't need to have a PlayStation to use Vue as a streaming service).

What Is the Best Way to Log In?

login

The best way to use your PlayStation Vue login is through a streaming application connected to your device. You will create an account with a computer, but you likely will want to watch programming on your TV. Due to this, the best way to use the PlayStation Vue login is to enter your credentials into the application and then access the programming. Thankfully, you only need to do this once with the PlayStation Vue application.

Channel Packages

PlayStation Vue offers different tier programming packages, similar to what you might have with a cable subscription (although there is no subscription with this service, and you can test it out for five days before deciding if you want to continue using the service or not).

The main tiers are broken down into four different categories. There is the "Access," option, "Core," "Elite," and "Ultra."

The Access program comes with your local television stations (although this does depend on your location and what the local channels are). You will also receive access to stations like AMC, BBC America, Bravo, Cartoon Network, CNBC, CNN, Discovery, Disney, Disney Junior, Disney XD, E, ESPN, ESPN3, Food Network, Fox News, Fox Business, FS1, FS2, FX, FXX, HGTV, Oxygen, SyFy, TBS, Travel, TruTV, and USA (just to name the more popular stations).

The Core package costs $ more and comes with all the same stations as the Access tier. It also comes with additional stations such as Big Ten Network, Cooking, Comet, DIY, ESPN U, your regional Fox sports station, Golf TV, IFC, MLBTV, National Geographic and National Geographic Wild, NBA TV, NBC Sports, TCM, Start TV, and Sundance TV.

The Elite programming package costs $ more than the Core package and comes with the same stations as the Core, in addition to stations such as Animal Planet, BBC World News, Boomerang, CNBC World, EPIX, ESPN Deportes, Hallmark, MGM HD, MotorTrend, SEC Network, Universal Kids, WE, Sony, Stadium, and others.

The Ultra programming package comes with all the same stations as the Elite package although this also comes with HBO and Showtime.

Add-On Channel Packages

There are additional packages you can select from. This includes a Sports Pack for $ a month which includes more regional sports stations from around the country, in addition to NFL Network's RedZone. There is an Espanol Pack, which costs $ unless you have the PlayStation Plus subscription (which you use for your gaming access). In this case, it costs $. You will receive a number of Spanish-speaking stations, including Universo, Nat Geo Mundo, Fox Life, and others.

You can also opt for HBO on its own, which costs $, or Showtime, which costs $ (or $ with PlayStation Plus). There is also a Fox Soccer Plus package to consider. You do not need to have any of the other tiers to use these add-on channel subscriptions. You can use these as-is.

Is There a Need to Be Registered to Login?

In order to access the television programming, you do need to be registered. Without registration, you are unable to access the content. Even if you want to opt for the free trial periods, you must register (and then cancel before the end of the trial period). You should note that the trial period may differ, depending on the package you have. The main programming packages last for five days while the standalone add-on packages will last seven days.

It is not possible to use the PlayStation Vue login without registering. It is worth checking out the programming though, even for the free trial, to see whether or not it is worth the payment price

PlayStation Vue Login - How-To Guide

Playstation Log in

In order to use the PlayStation Vue login you first need to register on the website. To do this head over to the PlayStation.com website, then choose "Vue" from the top of the page. From here you will find additional information regarding the programming. You can now choose the "Start Free Trial" option.

Signing Up for PlayStation Vue

Create Account

After you select the Start Free Trial option a new selection page will appear. Here you must first type in your zip code. PlayStation wants to let you know what local channels you have access to. After you type in this information here you'll be shown the official programming channel lists. You can now select whichever programming tier you are interested in.

You can select any level tier and any programming package add-on you might want for the free trials. If you want, you can select every single one. Just make sure to cancel the tiers you don't want before the expiration of your trial period, otherwise, you'll be hit with a rather hefty fee at the conclusion of the trial.

Once you have selected the programming tiers and add-ons you're interested in testing out, you can move on to the next phase of registering. You must enter your payment information and create a PlayStation Vue login. This will be an email address and a password. After completing this information and submitting it, you'll receive a confirmation email.

Logging In on Your Television

Now, you need to connect your PlayStation Vue login to the television. First, you'll need to download the application onto the streaming device you use. You can use either the PlayStation 3 or 4 with PlayStation Vue. You can also use any Roku player or Roku TV that uses firmware 7.7 or greater. You can use Amazon Fire TV (all versions) and all versions of Android TV. If you have Apple TV, you must have the 4th generation running tvOS 10.0 or higher.

You can use the Google Chromecast (any version), and you can use a number of mobile devices. If you have an Apple device (such as the iPhone or iPad) you need to have iOS 9 or greater. As for Android, you can use any Android phone or tablet that has Android OS 5.0 or greater (Android is currently using version 9, so that shouldn't be much of a problem).

After you have downloaded the application, open it up. You'll be requested to enter your login credentials. Type in your PlayStation Vue login, which is your email address and the password you selected when creating the account. After you enter this information, the app will check to make sure everything is correct. Once it confirms, the programming will load and you'll be able to start watching television.

Third-Party Applications

There may be times when you want to watch programming on a third-party application instead of through the PlayStation Vue app. You might want to watch an ESPN program but find it is not shown in your region. When this happens it is available through the Watch ESPN App (it's also easier to switch between games within the sports app).

You can use the application, you just need to authenticate your television "subscription" in order for the app to work. To do this, you'll need to download the application of interest. Open the app. It will give you a link to follow and an authentication code. Type this code into your web browser, then enter the authentication code.

Once the authentication code is accepted you'll need to select your television provider. Choose "PlayStation Vue" as your provider. Once you have selected this and submitted it, the website will inform you that your subscription has been confirmed. Momentarily, you'll see the application on your television screen bring up the current programming (or the show you had selected). You will only need to use this PlayStation Vue login once with the third-party application (although you will need to repeat the process with additional applications you might want to use).

Conclusion

The PlayStation Vue streaming service is one of the best-received programming options available. If you want to watch live television, sports, and other programming without subscribing to a cable or satellite company, this is one option to consider. It comes with a free trial, so you can test out the application and sift through the user interface to see if you like how it works. Whatever you decide to do, you will need to remember your PlayStation Vue login if you want to authenticate the programming on your streaming device or activate third-party applications.
